C-5 Galaxy Waifu - Patch

$12.00 USD

The Lockheed C-5 Galaxy is a strategic airlift aircraft and one of the largest in the world, built to carry outsized and heavy cargo across global distances. First introduced in 1970, it remains a backbone of U.S. Air Mobility Command. The C-5 measures 247 feet in length with a wingspan of 222 feet, and stands over 65 feet tall. Its four General Electric CF6 engines provide the thrust needed to transport massive payloads up to 281,000 pounds, including tanks, helicopters, and fully equipped combat units.

The aircraft’s distinctive “kneeling” landing gear allows the fuselage to lower for easier loading, while its nose and tail cargo doors enable simultaneous front and rear loading. With a cargo hold 121 feet long, it can carry up to 36 standard pallets or two M1 Abrams tanks. The C-5 has a maximum takeoff weight of 840,000 pounds and can travel approximately 5,250 nautical miles without refueling. With in-flight refueling, it can operate globally without landing.

In addition to cargo, the C-5 can transport 75 troops in an upper-deck compartment. Its size and versatility allow it to rapidly deploy forces, provide humanitarian aid, or deliver critical equipment to remote areas. The modernized C-5M Super Galaxy variant features upgraded avionics, improved reliability, and more powerful engines, extending its service life into the 2040s.

Overall, the C-5 Galaxy remains a critical strategic asset, unmatched in its ability to move the heaviest loads quickly across continents, supporting both military operations and disaster relief worldwide.
